Foi por volta de 2003, que o casal Win Butler e Régine Chassagne, oriundos de Montreal, Quebec, Canadá, decidiram em conjunto formar os "The Arcade Fire", um grupo muito baseado no indie rock/ um pouco "meio" alternativo com raizes muito barrocas. Os The Arcade fire são bastante conhecidos pelas prestações em palco assim como pelo numero fora de comum de instrumentos que utilizam. Entre eles destacam-se: Guitarra, bateria, baixo, piano, violino, viola, violoncelo, xilofone, teclado, acordeão e harpa. Um misto extremamente agradavel que faz ecludir em Setembro de 2004 o primeiro trabalho dos Arcade Fire - "Funeral", álbum que os fez ganhar diversos prémios, assim como algum protagonismo que os fez catapultar para a ribalta. Em 2006, movidos pela excentricidade que lhes circula no sangue, decidem comprar uma igreja para gravar e produzir o novo trabalho, motivado por uma melhor acústica. Em 2007 saía para o mercado "Neon Bible". Com algumas visitas feitas a Portugal, fica o desejo de que voltem o mais rapidamente possivel.

Ultimamente tenho tido uma queda despropositada para musicas de spots publicitários que nos são impingidas diariamente no "grande ecrãn" , é um facto. Não me condenem por isso... Quero acreditar que é um bom presságio, que demonstra o nivel elevado em que a competitividade entre as diversas marcas atinge.

Pois bem, fiquem sabendo que se trata de Brandi Carlile, com o tema "The story" retirado do álbum "The story". Com raizes criadas em Seattle, onde tocava em circuito de bares, o talento de Brandi acabou por ser descoberto por Dave Mathews, em 2003 no "Sasquatch music festival". Em 2005, lança o seu primeiro álbum, que saltou directamente para a lista "10 Artists to Watch in 2005" a revista americana Rolling Stone. Em 2007, com o seu 2º álbum "The story" vê alguns dos seus temas percorrem o mundo através da série televisiva "Grey´s Anatomy". Agora chegou a altura do público português conhecer a cantora Brandi Carlile através da música do Spot da Super Bock.

Ora, finalmente abriu a época "festivaleira". Muitos bons concertos, muitas boas bandas, muitos bons conceitos... Tudo bom, sem dúvida. No entanto, vive-se um periodo de febre pelo Brit/Indie-Rock "importado" e esquece-se o excelente trabalho que se tá a fazer em Portugal de momento, trabalho esse que acaba por ser reconhecido fora das terras do "Zé-Povinho". Um dos exemplos disso mesmo são os "YOU SHOULD GO AHEAD". Estes meninos eclodiram em Lisboa por volta de 2005, com a vontade de conceber música emotiva, mas descontraída, com uma sonoridade mais fluida, um pouco diferente daquela que haviam praticado em projectos anteriores. Com um ritmo muito animado, muito indie, e com influências bem visiveis de bandas como Duran Duran, Sonic Youth, Bad Religion, The Cure, Killing Joke, os YSGA são talvez das bandas nacionais com melhor produto de exportação, tendo o seu trabalho reconhecido ao partilhar o palco do Lisboa Soundz Festival 2007 com bandas como The Strokes, Dirty Prety Things, She Wants Revenge, etc. Depois disto, os YSGA optam por aceitar o convite do South by Southwest 2007 (nada mais nada menos, que o maior festival de musica do MUNDO) e juntar-se a bandas de renome internacional, tais como The Stooges, Lilly Allen ou mesmo Block Party... Para quem ainda não conhece, fica uma pequena amostra daquilo que eles são e daquilo que eles estão dispostos a dar, para continuar a por o publico aos saltos por esse mundo fora.
